Book: Icefall
Prompt:• Who is the most important character to you? Why?
Author: Matthew J. Kirby

Through out reading the book Icefall the most important character to me is solveing. Solveing is the main character in the book she is the second daughter of the king and she shares a bedroom with here sister she is skinny and pale and has dull brown hair. She is the most important character because the whole story revolves around her and she really gives you that feeling that you want to read. For example when her goat died it really dragged you into the moment of reading because she gave a whole bunch of reasons why she liked it and she was trying to figure out who killed her goat for meat.

Prompt 2: What is your favorite part of the book you’re reading? Why?

In the book Icefall my favorite part of the book that I have read was when the goat died. This was my favorite part of the book because it gives you that anticipation of what will happen to the person that slaughtered the goat because the main character liked the goat a lot as a friend even thought the goat did not provide any milk for them and was dry. Another reason that was my favorite part was because when you read it its like you really want to know who killed the goat so the anticipation is really high and a lot of the characters in the book are really suspicious.

Another one of my favorite parts in the book icefall is the part were she feels like she is being watched when she is walking through the woods looking at an old ruin. This was one of my favorite parts because when she was being watched or thought that she was being watched it really makes you think that what if someone pops out of a bush and kidnaps her. There are a lot of people that would want her because she is a princess and she is living in a safe house which is really a safe castle. Another reason that this is my favorite part is because what if it was one of her servants that she works with that was lurking around the woods alone.

Book: Alabama Moon
Author: Watt Key
Prompt: Tell me about the main character. What kind of person is he/she?

The main character Blake Moon also known as Alabama Moon. Moon is a ten year old boy that lives out in the forest with his father they live of the land with little supplies from town which is six miles away from their hidden camp. Moon wears a deer skin shirt, hat, pants, and shoes that he made on his own from scratch. He is sensitive when it comes to words because you can make him angry by saying the littlest thing or just making a joke that he could find offensive.

Prompt 2:What does this book remind you of?

The book that Alabama Moon reminds me of is The Hatchet. Alabama Moon reminds me of The Hatchet because they are both young boys that live out in the forest on their own but they still some how manage to survive event though there are a lot of challenges in their path. For example some of the challenges in The Hatchet is that Brian has a bear that is always ruining his campsite looking around for food and in Alabama Moon, Moon has the crazy constable Sanders that is trying to track him down because of the accident that happened out in the forrest between the two.

Another reason that the book Alabama Moon reminds me of The Hatchet. Another reason is because in both of the stories there are animals that are friends with the main characters but both of the animals are not like regular house pets. In the story The Hatchet while Brian is out working on his little fish pond he turns around to find that a skunk had crawled into his shelter. He decided that he was going to kill it but then chose not to because it saved his life from a bear so he kept and know feeds it meat every night. And in the book Alabama Moon, Moon grabs a stick and prepares for the worst when he hears sanders dogs in pursuit of him. Then he found out that the one that was chasing him was nice and did not hurt him but helped him out by keeping him warm at night along with his friends that were with him.

The First Time Ever Blog

The first time I did something complete new was I went to a trampoline park with my dad and my sister  over winter break in Rogers, Arkansas. It was a huge place and there were trampolines lining the floor and the whole place was brightly lit and there were loads of activities that you could participate in. One thing that we did to together was try to reach the punching bag by jumping on the same square which would make one person go really high and even though we could not reach it we still had a blast going pretty high into the air.

My favorite part about going to the trampoline park was jumping off this high platform and falling it to a brightly colored foam pit. The first time that I went up it was pretty scary because that feel in your stomach as you fall just makes you feel sick but it was fun and pretty hard to get out of the foam pit because I would keep sinking in if I put my foot into the wrong place. My sisters favorite part was just jumping in the main court and she was having a lot of fun because you can go pretty high and when you did jump in the main court you don't want to fall onto the matted part because it is like jumping onto bare floor and it will hurt.

Overall me and my sister had a blast and it was our last day in Arkansas so we were pretty beat from all of the packing and saying by to our close friends and family before leaving to the High rise trampoline park. When we first got their that was the first time that me and my sister had tried something completely new and it was a little weird at first being on a whole bunch of trampolines that were close together so that they were like tiny segments. You could just run around on them and me and my sister both learned that it is great to try new things whenever you get the chance.
