The Scorch Trials
By James Dashner
Prompt: Write about how one character feels. Write about a time you felt that way

The main character Thomas felt a lot of anxiety when the walls of the maze were coming down because there were so many people in the maze ranging from babies to old men and women and he thought that it would be all of his fault if all of the people in the glade died. He thought that it was his fault because he was the one that escaped wicked so they were finding new test subjects to work on and they gathered this many people to pick out a select few.

One time that I felt a lot of anxiety was when my dad grabbed me of the couch and said that he heard a single shot from a gun go off. we live in the country in the middle of nowhere so we keep the front and back door unlocked I mean who is going to drive 20 minutes out of town to rob somebody. So we ran up into the attic and it has a window but we were in such a frantic hurry we did not lock the door that leads up to the attic oh and just to top that off me and my dad left the phone down stairs.

We sat there and I guess we talked pretty much all night long until we both just fell sound asleep. The time that I felt the most anxiety was when my dad walked because it sounded like there was someone down stairs walking towards the attic door. but we made it through the night and it's a pretty cool experience to tell to my friends.

The Scorch Trials
By: James Dashner
Prompt: How has the view of the character changed throughout the story

The view of the character has changed throughout my book because in the beginning of my book the main character Thomas did not trust anyone because he was to paranoid and afraid of being lied to again so he was always really high on alert. He showed that he was paranoid because when they were in the city they met a man that could help them on their quest but Thomas said that he did not trust the man and then Thomas said in is mind "How do I know that this is just not another one of WICKEDS variables."

Now by the end of the story he is way more trust worthy that he was before. He shows that he is trust worthy by putting his life in the hands of a girl that he knows and she used to work for wicked but he was not for sure at first but then she gives him an explanation of why he should trust her which was that she and him were put into the scorch and everything they did was real and not fake and that she bonded to him more that she could have imagined.

Prompt 2: What do you think will happen in the future of the book.

What I think will happen in the future of the book is that Thomas is going to get tricked by wicked when he goes in and tries to break all of their guns. I think this because when Thomas met his old friend  his fried said not to trust anyone because they were being mine controlled so they did not know if they were being made to go and break into wicked because it could be a trap and he is suppost to break all of their guns.

The Scorch Trials By James Dashner

Prompt: How has the view of the main character changed throughout reading your book?

The view of the main character has changed throughout my book because In  the beginning of the book he would really rely on his friends instead of himself because he thought that just because he was new he did not want to get himself killed. He did not know anything when he arrived at the glade, such as he did not know any of the words that they used or how the rules went all that he knew when he came was his name. Now he can rely on himself because he has learned to be independent and not need that much help because he got separated from his group of gladers when they were in the tunnel.

Prompt 2: How have the people changed in the book so far?

The people in the book The Scorch Trials have changed because in the beginning of the book they were not willing to kill anybody so that they can live but now that life for them has gotten hard for them they are willing to kill so that they can live. For example in the beginning of the book when they were not willing to kill anybody they came in contact with people that had a lot of food but the people would not give them any food so then the gladers just left because they did not want to pick a fight because they were not people to just take.

So then later on in the book they were really hungry so then they started stealing food from people because then they became needy and they knew what they had to do to stay alive which was steal food to eat. One other way that they were not willing to kill anybody was when they get attacked by cranks which are like zombies because they just want fresh human flesh but the cranks used to be real people but the there was a decease. But when they get attaced by cranks they kill the cranks because they know that the cranks will go double up with their friends.
